Childbirth-Related Support Groups

Baby Care Class

General baby care, feeding, bathing and safety tips are reviewed for parents-to-be and grandparents-to-be.

Breastfeeding Class

Certified lactation consultants teach our breastfeeding class.

Childbirth Class

Choose a five-week evening course or an all-day Saturday course. There is a fee for this class.

Parents/grandparents-to-be are welcome and will receive a certificate of attendance.

For a tour of Cabell Huntington Hospital?s Mother/Baby Suites and Nursery.

Sibling Classes

Future big brothers and sisters tour the maternity floor, watch a videotape about sibling rivalry and learn to care for the new baby. Bring a baby doll to practice holding, feeding and diapering. Call for information about the next class.

Other Support Groups

Bariatric Support Group

Open to people who have had weight-loss surgery or who are considering it. No reservation required. Check here (link to schedule page) for dates.

Breast Cancer Support Group

Sisters of HOPE (Helping Other People Endure) is a breast cancer support group that meets at 5:30 p.m. the third Monday of every month in the learning center of the Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center on the campus of Cabell Huntington Hospital.

Diabetes Support Group

For patients and family members, includes speakers, education and refreshments.

Gynecologic Cancer Support Group

Sharing is for Tri-State women who have been diagnosed with gynecologic cancers. It meets at 5:30 p.m. the first Monday of each month in the learning center of the Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center on the campus of Cabell Huntington Hospital.

Pre-Dialysis Education

For those who have been diagnosed with kidney disease requiring dialysis, CHH's Dialysis Center offers a pre-dialysis education program.
