Amazing Race Kick-Off (May 2008)

Cabell Huntington Hospital celebrates Hospital Week and a healthy lifestyle with the beginning of the Amazing Race, a year-long walking program with incentives to encourage employees to incorporate regular exercise into their daily lives. The grand prize will be an all-expense-paid trip to New York City for two.

New Emergency Department

In conjunction with the addition of the North Patient Tower, the Emergency Department was renovated and expanded, with a spacious, comfortable waiting area. The Emergency Department now has 30 exam rooms and five trauma rooms, increasing the square footage from approximately 15,000 square feet to 30,000, and the unit is in close proximity to radiology and cardiology services should the need arise. The ImmediateCare area, which handles non-emergent walk-in patients, has been expanded to ten rooms.

Toy Drive 2007

Christmas is for children. Cabell Huntington employees, physicians and volunteers made this one special for local boys and girls by donating toys to WOWK's Toys for Tots program. The drive ran from Dec. 5-12, and about 300 toys were collected, including three bicycles. The toy drive is one of many charitable activities CHH employees, physicians and volunteers support.

Relay for Life 2007

Cabell Huntington Hospital was among many local organizations that participated in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life May 18-19. Hospital employees are particularly proud of the fact that Cabell Huntington was the largest single contributor this year.
