Patient Transport Services
Last updated: 11/11/2006
When your patient requires the specialized services of Cabell Huntington Hospital, our Patient Transport Team will be there. All interfacility transports and transfers can be quickly arranged by calling 1-800-747-2CHH (2244).
With specially designed and equipped transport vehicles available around the clock, our team can accommodate all interfacility transports, including general medical and surgical, critical care, trauma, burn, maternal, infant and pediatric transports.
Transport teams are staffed by qualified personnel trained in critical care, advanced cardiac life support, pediatric advanced life support, basic trauma life support and neonatal advanced life support.
A member of the Patient Transport Team will receive all requests for transfer and dispatch one of our advanced life support ambulances or the HealthNet Aeromedical III helicopter based at Cabell Huntington Hospital.
To facilitate transports, our emergency room physicians have been empowered to give immediate approval to patient acceptance. The ER physician will refer to a roster of admitting physicians who have given advance authorization to accept patients on their behalf.
As always, we work toward getting the patient back into your care as soon as medically appropriate.
