Allied Realty donates $20,000 to Children's Hospital Project
Huntington-based Allied Realty Company recently donated $20,000 to the proposed Children's Hospital at Cabell Huntington Hospital. The gift was recognized by dedicating a GE Healthcare OmniBed® for the hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit bearing the inscription "For Your Healthy Child."
Lake Polan III of Allied Realty in Huntington, and his sister Marilyn Polan, recently toured the fifth-floor NICU at Cabell Huntington Hospital where their donation helped provide a bed for a critically ill newborn.
"We are so grateful to Lake Polan, Allied Realty and their Board of Directors for their continuing generosity -- not only to area children, but to worthy causes across our entire region," said David Graley, vice president and chief operating officer of the Cabell Huntington Hospital Foundation.
Allied Realty's donation helped purchase state-of-the-art technology for treating premature babies in Cabell Huntington's 36-bed highly specialized unit. The OmniBed provides "an unsurpassed healing environment for intensively ill infants," according to GE Healthcare. Because technology is used to constantly control the fragile environment for premature babies, each bed costs about $40,000.
