The Center for Lung Health invites everyone to a COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) Awareness Event with free COPD screenings, spirometry testing and information about pulmonary rehabilitation and management of chronic lung disease. Dietitians, nurses, respiratory therapists and others who specialize in caring for those with lung disease will be on hand to answer questions.
Location: Center for Lung Health at Cabell Huntington Hospital (1305 Elm St. – beside the hospital’s helipad)

If you are a current or ex-smoker, over age 40 and you have symptoms like a chronic cough, breathlessness and bringing up phlegm, or you have been diagnosed with COPD, there are medications and treatments available to help you feel better and live longer. If you would like to learn more about COPD, professionals from the Lung Health Center can provide screenings, guidance and information on medication, nutrition, home care, self-management strategies, pulmonary rehabilitation, relaxation/breathing techniques.
