CHH recognized as most customer-friendly hospital in America

Cabell Huntington Hospital has been awarded the 2008 Hospital of the Year award, recognizing it as America's most customer-friendly hospital by the American Alliance of Healthcare Providers (AAHCP). CHH was named the best among 10 finalist facilities for areas including staff development and training, good citizenship and performance management.

The honor comes after an announcement earlier this year when the group named Cabell Huntington one of more than 100 Hospital of Choice Award winners for the year between June 2007 and July 2008.

"We are proud of the service and care our patients receive every day, and we are committed to maintaining our award-winning reputation as a customer-friendly hospital," said Brent Marsteller, CHH's president and CEO.

The AAHCP selected Cabell Huntington as a finalist after reviewing public information such as websites, news releases and announcements, along with phone surveys of hospital staff and applications submitted for review.

Cabell Huntington continues to improve customer service for patients and visitors. New employees participate in customer service training as part of their orientation, and the staff participates in ongoing customer service training opportunities through the Circle of Service program.
