Cabell Huntington Hospital oncology nurse Nancy C. Bandy, RN, OCN, recently served as an item reviewer for the National Council of State Boards of Nursing Licensure Examination. She was one of only six nurses from across the country to serve on the panel. Bandy, a 21-year employee of Cabell Huntington, was nominated for the panel on the basis of her clinical specialty and nursing expertise, according to the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCBSN). She works on the hospital's inpatient Oncology Unit.

According to the NCBSN, all nurses in the United States and U.S. territories must take the Nursing Licensure Exam (NCLEX®). The licensing exam identifies nursing candidates who demonstrate minimal competence to perform nursing duties at the entry level. Passing the exam is one of the requirements necessary for attaining a nursing license.
