Dr. Nerhood honored for contributions to perinatal health

Dr. Robert C. Nerwood

The West Virginia Perinatal Partnership is honoring Dr. Robert C. Nerhood for his service and commitment to the health of West Virginia babies and his contributions to perinatal health in the state. He has been a member of the West Virginia Perinatal Partnership Central Advisory Council since its inception, and he was the chair of the council in 2008–2009. Dr. Nerhood is one of two physicians who received this recognition for continued contributions, dedication and service to the West Virginia Perinatal Partnership, a statewide partnership that works to improve perinatal health in West Virginia. The group consists of healthcare professionals and public and private organizations. Since 1992, he has been the Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine at Marshall University, where he was also recently appointed Senior Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs. He is Vice President of the Board of Directors of University Physicians & Surgeons, Inc. and has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Cabell Huntington Hospital and as Chairman of the West Virginia Section of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
