Last updated: 07/08/2009
The Marshall University Department of Neuroscience is beginning a monthly epilepsy support group for patients and the families of those who suffer from it. The first meeting of the group will be at 5:30 p.m. on July 29 in Room G403 on the ground floor of the Marshall University Medical Center on the campus of Cabell Huntington Hospital.
The group will be led by Mark Stecker, MD, a nationally recognized neurologist and epilepsy expert who leads the epilepsy program at Cabell Huntington Hospital, and Mona Baron, NP-BC, CNRN, the epilepsy nurse practitioner who coordinates the Epilepsy Center at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Patients and their families will be given the opportunity to meet and interact with others who experience epilepsy. In recent months, Cabell Huntington Hospital and Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine have created a specialized program to diagnose and treat patients who suffer from epilepsy and seizure-related disorders.
