New Vice President and Chief Information Officer joins Cabell Huntington Hospital

Scott Groom, MHSA, recently joined Cabell Huntington Hospital as Vice President and Chief Information Officer. Groom, a native of Virginia, comes to Huntington from Baptist Health Systems in Jackson, Miss., where he served as corporate chief information officer and also vice president for Strategic Planning, Marketing, Corporate Health and Physician Services programs.
He earned a bachelor's degree from Virginia Tech, a Master of Health Services Administration from The George Washington University and completed his residency at the University of Virginia Medical Center.
Mr. Groom's responsibilities at Cabell Huntington Hospital include the integration of information technology and planning into all aspects of the hospital, medical clinics, service lines and business ventures. His immediate focus will be on strategy and execution of clinical automation solutions including surgical services, patient access; physician documentation and medication orders.
