Cabell Huntington Hospital's SeniorWise Program has received a $25,000 donation from the JP Morgan Chase Foundation to continue providing financial services and information to Tri-State seniors. The SeniorWise program has helped provide free educational programs, social activities and health screenings to those age 55 and over. Membership is free and participants are eligible for benefits that include discounted hospital and banking services.

"As we age, we pay more attention to our social, financial and physical needs that arise," said Joy Pelfrey, Associate Director of Nursing and Director of Senior Services at Cabell Huntington Hospital. "Cabell Huntington Hospital and JP Morgan Chase recognize the importance of having accessible resources available for seniors. That is why we joined together to offer the SeniorWise program. This program is designed to offer a full range of services to support the different needs that seniors experience. Our desire is to help them remain healthy, wealthy and wise by being a resource to them and their families."

Through the partnership with JP Morgan Chase, Cabell Huntington Hospital is able to reach out to seniors of all stages of life to provide the connection to resources and support systems available to meet their needs. More than 4,000 people over the age of 50 participate in the program.

"JP Morgan Chase Foundation is proud to continue its support of the Senior Wise program," said Ron Beane, West Virginia Market President for JPMorgan Chase Bank NA. "Since 2006, JPMorgan Chase Foundation has provided $130,000.00 to support this innovative partnership that provides timely and relevant information to seniors on topics of interest including financial education and health and wellness services. The JPMorgan Chase Foundation's mission is to support vibrant, sustainable communities. Meeting the needs of our seniors is a key piece of fulfilling that commitment."
