Things are Looking Up on Pediatrics

Skye Taylor joined her parents Lynn and Barry Taylor (right) and Don Shomberg from CHH's Maintenance Department for a reception following her recognition. The Taylors credited Shomberg for his patience and help installing the tiles throughout PICU and Pediatrics.
Skye Taylor was awarded the WSAZ Hometown Hero award last week for her "Keep Your Chin Up" project in Cabell Huntington's Pediatrics Unit. To earn her Girl Scout Gold Award, she obtained approvals and implemented a program in which members of the community painted cheerful messages on more than 500 ceiling tiles that were later hung in the ceiling of the Pediatrics Unit and PICU. The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest award that a Girl Scout age 14-18 may earn, and the project must be something that fulfills a need within a girl's community, creates change and hopefully, is something that becomes ongoing. Her goal is to bring smiles to the faces of patients and families.
