Cabell Huntington Hospital’s Cabby the Koala receives a check for $503 from Rick Jansen, General Manager of Charlie's Harley-Davidson on Wednesday. More than 500 Charlie's Harley-Davidson customers purchased $1 donation tags for the Cabell Huntington Hospital Children's Hospital project.

Another community business has stepped up to donate to the Cabell Huntington Hospital Children's Hospital project. Cabell Huntington Hospital's mascot, Cabby the Koala, accepted a $503 check today from Rick Jansen, General Manager of Charlie's Harley-Davidson in Huntington. The check represents donations from more than 500 customers from Charlie's Harley-Davidson who purchased donation tags along with their Charlie's purchases since the 2009 holiday shopping season began.

"This is a vital service for infants and children in this area. We are proud to support this much-needed facility," Jansen said. "Community involvement is very important to our dealership. With this campaign, we had an opportunity to care for future riders and their families."

Currently, the Children's Hospital project has raised $6 million toward its $12 million goal. Through reconstruction of the hospital's fifth floor pediatrics area and the construction of a new Children's Hospital entrance from Hal Greer Boulevard, this project will create a state-of-the-art and child-friendly space where children will come to receive their medical care.
