Members of the Cabell Huntington Hospital Auxiliary presented Cabell Huntington Hospital President and CEO Brent Marsteller and Cabell Huntington Hospital Foundation Vice President and COO David Graley with a fifth $100,000 check for the Children's Hospital campaign.

The Cabell Huntington Hospital Auxiliary has now raised $500,000 for the Children's Hospital project since the group began its campaign with a $1 million pledge. The $12 million Children's Hospital project will reconstruct the hospital's Pediatrics Unit and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit in addition to constructing a new entrance to be used for young patients. More than $6 million has been committed and donated to the Children's Hospital project.

In just more than two years, the Cabell Huntington Hospital Auxiliary has used raffle sales, gift shop sales and other fund-raisers to raise half a million dollars.

"We made our pledge of $1 million over 10 years, and it is thrilling to have reached half of that amount in such a short time," said Marian Tissenbaum, President of the Cabell Huntington Hospital Auxiliary. "We are so proud to be a part of this project and to know that this dream is going to become a reality."

Members of the Cabell Huntington Hospital Auxiliary are volunteers who work to support the hospital by donating their time to see that patients and visitors have a pleasant hospital experience. The group also raises money for such projects as children’s safety seats, critical care ambulances and a major gift toward the North Patient Tower construction.
