Epilepsy Conference April 30 and Walk/Run May 1

For families who experience the effects of epilepsy, life is different and often challenging. Cabell Huntington Hospital, the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine and the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Cincinnati want to help raise awareness and increase community support for the disease by offering community events April 30 and May 1.
On Friday, April 30, epilepsy specialists from Cabell Huntington Hospital's Epilepsy Center, the Marshall University Department of Neuroscience and the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Cincinnati will lead an all-day conference to discuss various topics related to epilepsy and seizures in adults and children. Physicians, nurses, social workers, counselors, teacher, patients and families affected by epilepsy are invited to attend this free conference. The weekend events also include a fund-raising 5K run/walk on Saturday, May 1, at Pullman Square. The 1st Annual Epilepsy Foundation Race for Hope 5K will begin at 9 a.m. at the corner of 8th and 9th streets on Veteran's Memorial Boulevard. Registration is $20 before the race for anyone over age 13 and $15 for children age 12 and younger. Race day registration is $25. Brochures for this event can be downloaded HERE.
