Cabell Huntington Hospital nationally recognized by HealthGrades® for joint replacement excellence

According to the Tenth Annual HealthGrades Hospital Quality in America Study issued in April, Cabell Huntington Hospital ranks among the top five percent in the nation and is number one in West Virginia for joint replacement. The study, the largest of its kind, analyzed patient outcomes at virtually all of the nation's 5,000 hospitals over the years 2004, 2005 and 2006.

The study listed the following achievements by Cabell Huntington Hospital's orthopedics program:

  • Recipient of the 2008 HealthGrades Joint Replacement Excellence Award™
  • Ranked among the top five percent in the nation for joint replacement (Highest possible HealthGrades designation for joint replacement)
  • Ranked number one in West Virginia for joint replacement
  • Recipient of five-star (out of five) rating for joint replacement
  • Recipient of five-star (out of five) rating for total knee replacement
  • Recipient of five-star (out of five) rating for total hip replacement
  • Best rated in Huntington for overall orthopedic services
  • Best Rated in the Tri-State Area for Overall Orthopedics and Joint Replacement*

*Tri-State Area includes all hospitals in the Huntington/Ashland/Ironton area.
