Eight-Week Breast & Ovarian Cancer Survivor Therapy Group to Begin
Last updated: 08/05/2008
The Psychology Clinic at Marshall University has established a free Breast and Ovarian Cancer Survivor Therapy Group for the community. The goal is to provide a safe and open forum in which women who share a similar life experience can explore aspects of their experiences with cancer and with life in general. While the group aims to be supportive in nature, members may be asked to explore at a deeper level their reactions to topics presented by the group leaders as well as those brought up by participants, resulting in a rewarding experience for everyone.
The group will run 90 minutes, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., once a week for eight weeks beginning August 21, 2008. It will take place in the Education Center of the Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center on the campus of Cabell Huntington Hospital, and it will be led by two advanced-standing doctoral level clinical psychology students. For more information, please call Lisa at (304) 696-2772 opt. 2, ext. 79265.
