Bunny Smith, RN, BSN, MBA, NE-BC, has been named Executive Director of the Hoops Family Children’s Hospital at Cabell Huntington Hospital. She has worked in nursing at Cabell Huntington Hospital since 1978 and in nursing leadership roles since 1986.
Smith served as CHH's Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer at Cabell Huntington Hospital since 2005, and she is now focusing her leadership on the Hoops Family Children’s Hospital.
In her new role, Smith provides leadership, direction and administration to oversee operations of the Children’s Hospital to enhance the quality, safety and service provided for pediatric patients and their families, as well as identifying additional services and needs. She will also oversee the ongoing transition to updated facilities on the fifth floor of Cabell Huntington Hospital.
The Hoops Family Children’s Hospital is a 71-bed children’s hospital within a hospital located at Cabell Huntington Hospital, a 303-bed academic medical center in Huntington, West Virginia. Cabell Huntington is affiliated with the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine and cares for patients from more than 29 counties throughout West Virginia, eastern Kentucky and southern Ohio.
