Cabell Huntington Hospital and Marshall Internal Medicine welcome fellowship-trained and board-certified kidney specialists Dr. Hala Alshayeb and Dr. Wafa Badwan to their medical staffs to provide care for patients with kidney disease.
Dr. Alshayeb earned her medical degree at Jordan University of Science and Technology. She completed her residency training and her fellowship training in nephrology at University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Additionally, Dr. Alshayeb completed fellowship training in nephrology transplantation at the University of Illinois in Chicago. She is certified in internal medicine and nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is an Associate Professor with the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine.
Dr. Badwan earned her medical degree at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. She also completed her residency in internal medicine and her fellowship training in nephrology at East Carolina University/Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville, NC. She is certified in internal medicine and nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is an Assistant Professor with the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine.
Drs. Alshayeb and Badwan join the Marshall Internal Medicine Division of Nephrology and will work with Dr. Joseph I. Shapiro, dean of the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine and nephrologists Neha Garg, MD, and Zeid Khitan, MD, in providing care at the Marshall Kidney Care and Hypertension Center located at the J. Robert Pritchard Dialysis Center on the campus of Cabell Huntington Hospital and the Marshall University Medical Center. The clinic offers treatment for patients with resistant and difficult-to-treat hypertension (high blood pressure) and diabetes, which can cause kidney failure.
