The J. Robert Pritchard Dialysis Center at Cabell Huntington Hospital has been honored for its excellence in submitting patient data in the Mid-Atlantic region.
The award will be presented Feb. 28 at the Mid-Atlantic Renal Coalition annual council meeting in Linthicum Heights, Maryland. Staff at the J. Robert Pritchard Dialysis Center have strict timeframes to submit patient data and those submissions are monitored for accuracy and timeliness.
"We are a big unit and we have a lot of paperwork to send in," said Marsha Dillow, dialysis services director at Cabell Huntington Hospital. "It is a team effort from Sheila Senters, our clinical coordinator, to the unit clerks and staff. This award shows that we work hard to make sure we do things the correct way in a timely manner."
In 2007, Dillow said the unit had ratings of 98 percent for accuracy and 97 percent for timeliness in submitting the data.
"This data helps patients with getting their Medicare coverage for treatments, which is very important to many patients," Dillow said.
The J. Robert Pritchard Dialysis Center on the campus of Cabell Huntington Hospital opened in 2002 and provides acute and chronic dialysis services to patients.
