Dr. Stephen Wilcox receives board certification for urgent care medicine
Cabell Huntington Hospital Family Urgent Care Center's Stephen N. Wilcox, MD, has been awarded board certification by the American Board of Urgent Care Medicine (ABUCM). Dr. Wilcox provides urgent care for patients at the Cabell Huntington Hospital Family Urgent Care Center located just off of 5th Street in Huntington. He has more than eight years of experience providing urgent care for adults and children who have minor illnesses and injuries.
The ABUCM was established in 1997 to serve as an independent certifying body for urgent care medicine. The ABUCM defines urgent care medicine is defined as provision of immediate medical service (no appointment necessary) offering outpatient care for the treatment of acute and chronic illness and injury. Certification by the ABUCM recognizes excellence in the discipline of urgent care medicine.
