Kara Willenburg, MD, a fellowship-trained and board-certified infectious diseases specialist, has joined Marshall Internal Medicine and Cabell Huntington Hospital.
Dr. Willenburg earned her medical degree at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford, IL. She completed her residency training at Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital at Columbia University in Cooperstown, NY, and her fellowship training in infectious diseases at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY. She is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine and infectious diseases. Dr. Willenburg is also an assistant professor with the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine.
As an infectious diseases specialist, Dr. Willenburg diagnoses and treats patients with a wide range of health problems that can be caused by infections, including those caused by bacteria and viruses.
