Third member of CHH Balance Center team completes "gold standard" credential in balance therapy

Phil Simpson, MS, OTR/L, an occupational therapist with the Cabell Huntington Hospital Balance Center, recently was awarded a certificate of achievement after completing an intensive course in balance therapy. The course was directed by Dr. Susan Herdman, one of the world's leading experts in the field. It tests a therapist's knowledge and competence in treating complex balance-related disorders.

Simpson, a 10-year employee of Cabell Huntington Hospital, joins Balance Center physical therapists Jeff Ashton, PT, and Damian Southard, MPT, in completing the course. The course tests therapists' competence in treatment and evaluation and it is recognized as the "gold standard" in balance therapy.

The Cabell Huntington Hospital Balance Center provides specialized care and treatment for patients who experience dizziness or problems with falling caused by balance disorders and other conditions. Using state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment technology, physical therapists and occupational therapists at the Balance Center provide comprehensive balance therapy.
