Your Hospital Team

Your Cabell Huntington Hospital team of doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals is committed to providing high quality health care. Excellent service is at the heart of the care we deliver. During your hospital stay, we will do our best to meet your healthcare needs, keep you and your family informed of your care and respond to your concerns and complaints quickly. We will also work to respect your privacy, include you in decisions about your health care and answer any questions you may have. Please tell us how we’re doing. If we can help you in any way, do not hesitate to ask.

Physicians

Because Cabell Huntington Hospital is a teaching institution, your physician team may include many qualified resident physicians and medical students from the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. You will find your admitting doctor's name on your hospital bracelet.

Nurses

Your nursing staff includes specially-trained RNs, LPNs and assistants/aides. You may also be visited by nursing students, including those from the Marshall University School of Nursing and the Cabell County Vocational/Technical School and others.

Ancillary Services

Many tests and/or procedures during your hospital stay will be provided to you by our well-qualified technicians and therapists in radiology, laboratory, rehabilitation services, respiratory, etc.

Pastoral Care (Chaplains)

The comfort of Pastoral Care is available to you and your family 24 hours a day. Requesting a visit is easy. Let your nurse know you would like a pastoral visit or call ext. 2049.

Nutrition Consultation

Our registered dietitians monitor your nutritional needs and provide instruction to patients who have been prescribed special diets by their physicians. Special meal requests for ethnic or religious reasons should be submitted to the dietitians at extensions 3438 or 3015.

Pharmacy

The inpatient pharmacy provides pharmaceutical care for all patients. Our staff provides a variety of clinical, pharmaceutical and educational services as well as a robust distributive program. We use state-of-the-art technology to provide medications that are packaged individually with bar codes for electronic verification. This system helps ensure that every patient receives the correct medication every time.

Housekeeping

A member of the Housekeeping staff will clean your room daily. Housekeeping wants to make certain you are very satisfied with the cleanliness of the hospital. Call ext. 2034 should you need to contact Housekeeping.

Auxiliary

Many local citizens volunteer their time and caring spirit to our hospital. They operate the Gift Shop, information desk, surgery and intensive care waiting areas, the cafeteria coffee cart and the flower room, and they handle your mail, deliver flowers and can bring you magazines and books. For assistance, call ext. 2111 (Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.).
