Marshall Health Network hospitals announce events and screenings in May

As part of their commitment to the health and well-being of all they serve, Cabell Huntington Hospital (CHH), St. Mary’s Medical Center (SMMC) and Rivers Health (RH), members of Marshall Health Network, are pleased to provide the following events and screenings for the community in May.

Wednesday, May 1 - Friday, May 31

Wellness Blood Profiles
Marshall Health Network is offering low-cost wellness blood profiles, which can be used to help evaluate a person’s general health. The profile includes 29 different tests, such as glucose, cholesterol and calcium, and is available for $25. Additional tests are available, with the purchase of a blood profile, for hemoglobin A1C and thyroid-stimulating hormone at an additional cost of $5 per test. A Vitamin D test or Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) test can also be added to the profile for an additional $15. Lab work should be performed while fasting. No appointment is required.

Sports Physicals for Student Athletes at Mason County Schools
Rivers Health Sports Medicine and Therapy will offer $10 sports physicals for student athletes at Mason County schools. Physicals will be completed by Kylen Whipp, MD; Wesley Lieving, DO; Jay Akin, MD; and Charlotte Reed, FNP-BC. Parents must complete an official SSAC form and bring a check for $10 made out to the school the student attends. Students at Beale, Leon and Roosevelt Elementaries may schedule a sports physical by calling the school nurse at 304.593.8822.
