According to the Eleventh Annual HealthGrades Hospital Quality in America Study, Cabell Huntington Hospital ranks #1 in West Virginia for overall orthopedic services and joint replacement. HealthGrades is an independent reviewer of hospital quality. For this study, more than 41 million Medicare hospitalization records were reviewed from the nation's approximately 5,000 non-federal hospitals.
The study listed the following achievements by Cabell Huntington Hospital's orthopedics program:
"We have always known our results have been outstanding," said Dr. Ali Oliashirazi, professor and chairman of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine and surgical director of the Mary H. Hodges Joint Replacement Center at Cabell Huntington Hospital. "It is an honor to have our results validated by such a prestigious, objective national evaluator. Cabell Huntington Hospital has received every joint replacement achievement possible from HealthGrades."
"Our absolute commitment to excellence and consistency enables us to excel and produce results that garner such achievements," said Dr. William Wallace, medical director for the Mary H. Hodges Joint Replacement Center at Cabell Huntington Hospital. "We are passionate about providing our patients with the highest quality of joint replacement care possible, and it is very rewarding to know that our efforts have been recognized by HealthGrades."
"This recognition makes me very proud to be involved with a program that provides such personalized care at such a high level," said Kristie Winters, joint program coordinator for the Mary H. Hodges Joint Replacement Center at Cabell Huntington Hospital.
In addition to providing joint replacement care, Cabell Huntington Hospital's orthopedics program includes orthopedic sports medicine services, foot and ankle care, hand and upper extremity care, orthopedic trauma care and comprehensive back and spine care.
