Because Cabell Huntington Hospital is a teaching institution, your physician team may include many qualified resident physicians and medical students from the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. You will find your admitting doctor's name on your hospital bracelet.
Your nursing staff includes specially-trained RNs, LPNs and assistants/aides. You may also be visited by nursing students, including those from the Marshall University School of Nursing and the Cabell County Vocational/Technical School and others.
Many tests and/or procedures during your hospital stay will be provided to you by our well-qualified technicians and therapists in radiology, laboratory, rehabilitation services, respiratory, etc.
The comfort of Pastoral Care is available to you and your family 24 hours a day. Requesting a visit is easy. Let your nurse know you would like a pastoral visit or call 304-526-3730.
Our registered dietitians monitor your nutritional needs and provide instruction to patients who have been prescribed special diets by their physicians. Special meal requests for ethnic or religious reasons should be submitted to the dietitians at extensions
The inpatient pharmacy provides pharmaceutical care for all patients. Our staff provides a variety of clinical, pharmaceutical and educational services as well as a robust distributive program. We use state-of-the-art technology to provide medications that are packaged individually with bar codes for electronic verification. This system helps ensure that every patient receives the correct medication every time.
A member of the Housekeeping staff will clean your room daily. Housekeeping wants to make certain you are very satisfied with the cleanliness of the hospital. Call ext. 304-526-3711 should you need to contact Housekeeping.
Many local citizens volunteer their time and caring spirit to our hospital. They operate the Gift Shop, information desk, surgery and intensive care waiting areas, the cafeteria coffee cart and the flower room, and they handle your mail, deliver flowers and can bring you magazines and books.
