Cabell Huntington Hospital's Laboratory has state of the art equipment and an experienced staff who complete a variety of testing to aid in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease. The Laboratory is staffed with pathologists, medical technologists, cytotechnologists, and histotechnicians who have been certified in their chosen fields.They perform testing in the areas of hematology, flow cytometry, chemistry, microbiology, cytology, histology and virology for outpatients and inpatients, as well as other area hospitals and physician's offices.
Tests are performed on an outpatient basis with a physician's order. Appointments are not necessary for outpatient testing. Please bring your physician's order, a photo ID and your insurance card to either the main hospital location or our satellite facility on 20th Street.
Hours: The CHH Lab is open Monday through Friday, from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. to noon. It is closed Sundays and major holidays.
Location: After registering at the Registration Desk on the first floor just off the stairs from the atrium, please proceed around the corner to the Laboratory/Radiology waiting area. If you prefer, you can take the elevator to the First Floor. Bring your paperwork to the clerk, who will sign you in and offer additional instructions.
Hours: The 20th Street Lab is open weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Location: The Lab is located on the ground floor of the 20th Street Professional Building located at 1115 20th Street, Huntington, WV. Go through the entrance doors and walk straight ahead, almost to the end of the hallway. The Lab is across from Marshall Urology.
Cabell Huntington Hospital's Laboratory Services are accredited by the Commission on Laboratory Accreditation of the College of American Pathologists (CAP), which ensures the highest standard of care for all patients. During the accreditation process, inspectors examine the Lab’s records and quality control for procedures during the preceding two years. CAP inspectors also examine laboratory staff qualifications, equipment, facilities, safety program and record and overall management.
Our blood bank provides routine blood banking and prenatal screening services. Confidential pregnancy testing can be completed on a walk-in basis. A physician's order is not necessary, and there is a fee for this testing.
