Dr. Justice serves as the Director of Pharmacy at Cabell Huntington Hospital. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy in 2007, followed by completing both a PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency and a PGY-2 Emergency Medicine Pharmacy Residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Following her residency training, Dr. Justice spent six years as an Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, bringing her knowledge, skills, and passion to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, UK HealthCare in Lexington, Kentucky, and the Charleston Area Medical Center in Charleston, West Virginia. In December 2015, she transitioned from direct patient care to pharmacy administration, where she remains involved in enhancing pharmacy practices. Dr. Justice has been highly active in pharmacy education, mentoring students and residents as a faculty member, preceptor, and residency program director. She also has numerous publications and consistently presents at conferences locally and nationally to promote and advance emergency medicine and pharmacy leadership.
Dr. Fisher is the Clinical Pharmacy Supervisor and PGY1 Residency Program Director at Cabell Huntington Hospital. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from West Virginia University in 2015 and completed her PGY1 pharmacy residency at Cabell Huntington Hospital in 2016. She has a teaching certificate through Marshall University School of Pharmacy and became a board-certified critical care pharmacist in 2019. Dr. Fisher was voted the 2020 Pharmacist of the Year and the 2020 – 2021 Preceptor of the Year at her prior practice location, St. Claire HealthCare, and the 2023 – 2024 Resident Wellness Champion at Cabell Huntington Hospital.
Dr. Ayers is a clinical pharmacy specialist practicing with the Hospitalist service at CHH. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from West Virginia University in 2014. She completed her PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Hazard ARH Regional Medical Center, as well as a teaching certificate program through the University of Kentucky. Dr. Ayers became board certified in pharmacotherapy in 2017. Her practice interests include anticoagulation and stroke management.
Dr. Capino is a clinical pharmacy specialist practicing with the Pediatrics service at CHH and serves as a Clinical Associate Professor at the Marshall University School of Pharmacy. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy from the South Carolina College of Pharmacy in 2014. She completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency from 2014 – 2015 and a PGY2 Pediatric Pharmacy Residency from 2015 – 2016 at the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy. During her residency training, she completed teaching certificate programs. Upon completion of her residency training, Dr. Capino served as a faculty member at the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy with a practice area in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the University of Mississippi Medical Center for seven years. Dr. Capino is also involved in a number of national pharmacy organizations including the Pediatric Pharmacy Association and the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. Dr. Capino is a board certified pediatric pharmacy specialist. Her practice interests include pediatrics, neonatology, and pediatric critical care.
Dr. Evans is a clinical pharmacy specialist practicing with the Infectious Disease service and Antimicrobial Stewardship at CHH. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from West Virginia University in 2011. He completed his Pharmacy Residency training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Dr. Evans is involved in precepting students and residents and serves as a member of the Infection Control and Surgical Safety committees. His practice interests include antimicrobial resistance and the pharmacokinetics/ pharmacodynamics of antimicrobials and the associated impact on resistance and outcomes.
Dr. Hughes is a clinical pharmacy specialist practicing with the Pediatrics service at Hoop's Family Children's Hospital. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy from Marshall University School of Pharmacy in 2019. She completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency from 2019 – 2020 at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and a PGY2 Pediatric Pharmacy Residency from 2020-2021 at Michigan Medicine/C.S. Mott Children's Hospital. During her residency training, she completed a teaching certificate program through the University of Cincinnati. Her past career experiences include being a pediatric clinical pharmacist at Penn State Children's Hospital, ambulatory complex care clinic pharmacist at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, and pediatric clinical pharmacy specialist at WVU Medicine-Thomas Hospitals. Dr. Hughes is also involved in a number of national pharmacy organizations including the Pediatric Pharmacy Association and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. Dr. Hughes is a board-certified pediatric pharmacy specialist. Her practice interests include pediatrics, pediatric critical care, and pediatric emergency medicine.
Dr. Lowther is the Medication Safety Officer at CHH. He received a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from West Virginia University School of Pharmacy and completed a two-year specialty residency in pharmacotherapy at Cleveland Clinic. He has practiced in acute care/critical care for over 15 years at the following institution’s main campuses: Cleveland Clinic, Charleston Area Medical Center, Marietta Memorial Health System, and Cabell Huntington Hospital. Dr. Lowther holds a Medication Safety Certificate from ASHP/ISMP and is a Cardiovascular Team Member in the American College of Cardiology. His practice interests include critical care, cardiology, and medication safety.
Dr. Murphy is a staff pharmacist at CHH. She received her PharmD from Auburn University Harrison School of Pharmacy and completed her PGY1-PGY2 Critical Care residency at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in NC, with presentation of practice-based research in both sepsis and ischemic stroke on national platforms. She has 8 years of staff pharmacy experience and 3 years of practice experience as an emergency department specialist at CHH and University of Virginia in Charlottesville. Her practice interests include toxicology, neurology, and cardiology.
Dr. Pettit is a clinical pharmacy specialist practicing with the Internal Medicine service at CHH. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry at Indiana University in 2018 and her Doctor of Pharmacy at the University of Minnesota in 2023. She completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at M Health Fairview St. John's Hospital, a 184-bed community hospital in Maplewood, Minnesota in 2024. She also completed a teaching certificate through the University of Minnesota. Her practice interests include pharmacokinetics, cardiology, opioid stewardship, and diabetes management.
Dr. Pruitt is a clinical pharmacist practicing with the Oncology service at CHH and the ECI. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy in 2020. She then completed her PGY1 pharmacy residency at St. Claire Regional Medical Center and a teaching certificate through University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy in 2021. Her practice interests include oncology, hematology, palliative care and maternal health.
Dr. Sparks is a clinical pharmacy specialist practicing with the Internal Medicine service at CHH and serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor at MUSOP. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Charleston in 2011 and a teaching certificate program through Marshall University School of Pharmacy. Dr. Sparks is a board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist and a board-certified infectious disease pharmacist with practice interests including infectious diseases/antimicrobial stewardship, medication safety, and opioid dependence. She is also certified in ACLS and PALS.
Dr. Taylor is a clinical pharmacy specialist practicing with the Hospitalist service and works as an Inpatient Staff Pharmacist at Cabell Huntington Hospital. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree with an area of emphasis in Advanced Clinical Practice from West Virginia University in 2015. His past career experiences include being the Director of Pharmacy of a long term acute care hospital. Dr. Taylor became board certified in pharmacotherapy in 2019.
