Huntington’s Kitchen, a community outreach program of Cabell Huntington Hospital, has announced its cooking class schedule for February 2022.
All classes are 6-8 p.m. and limited to 16 participants, ages 15 and up, unless otherwise specified. Masks are required and social distancing guidelines will be followed. Registration is required by calling 304.522.0887 or by visiting huntingtons-kitchen.org.
Tuesday, Feb. 1
Dining With a Doc
Daniel Snavely, MD, interventional cardiologist with HIMG and St. Mary’s Regional Heart Institute, will be the guest doc to kick off Heart Month with a discussion about heart health and the importance of not delaying care. This class is free and you must call to register.
Wednesday, Feb. 2
As the weather gets colder, you can heat up the kitchen with the number one comfort food – soup. During this class we’ll learn to make Pozole Rojo, which is part chili, part soup. Fee: $20 per person.
Monday, Feb. 7
Instant Pot® 101
Do you have an Instant Pot, or other multi-use pressure cooker, and don’t know how to use it or are looking for some new recipes to try? In this class, we will be learning how to make ribs, beef gyros, General Tso’s chicken, and a shrimp boil — all with an Instant Pot. Feet: $20 per person.

Valentine’s Day Couples Classes
Treat your Valentine to a unique dining experience with a couples class designed for you and your partner to create the perfect romantic dinner together. Participants will make pan-seared filets with a mushroom cream sauce, roasted red potatoes and a shredded Brussels sprouts salad. This class is limited to eight couples, ages 15 and up. Fee: $65 per couple.
Monday, Feb. 21
A Taste of Curry
In this class, we will explore the many uses of curry. The class will make dishes using red, green and yellow curry in order to taste the differences. Fee: $20 per person.
