Cabell Huntington Hospital – Marshall Health Network Among America’s 50 Best Hospitals

Tuesday, January 27, 2026

Cabell Huntington Hospital (CHH) – Marshall Health Network (MHN) announced today that it is the first hospital in West Virginia to be named one of America’s 50 Best Hospitals by Healthgrades, the number one site Americans use when searching for a doctor or hospital. This achievement–Healthgrades’ highest honor for clinical excellence – places CHH among the top 1% of hospitals nationwide and reflects its unwavering commitment to exceptional patient care.

In addition to this prestigious distinction for clinical care, CHH has been recognized for its exceptional patient outcomes in key service areas, including orthopedics, neurosciences, pulmonary and critical care. These honors further demonstrate CHH’s commitment to delivering the highest quality care across a broad range of specialties, year after year.

“We are incredibly proud of Cabell Huntington Hospital’s well-deserved recognition of being named among the Top 50 Hospitals in the Nation,” stated Scott Raynes, Chief Executive Officer and President, MHN. “This achievement is a testament to our physicians, nurses, and staff whose commitment to quality and compassion consistently puts patients first. We celebrate the entire team for reaching this significant national milestone.”

CHH’s achievement is based solely on what matters most – patient outcomes. To determine America’s 50 Best Hospitals for 2026, Healthgrades evaluated risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates for more than 30 of the most common conditions and procedures at approximately 4,500 hospitals nationwide.

“Each day, I am humbled by our team’s unwavering commitment to patient care,” said Tim Martin, President, CHH. “Being named a Top 50 Hospital is the result of every team member—physicians, nurses, caregivers, and support staff—working together with a shared purpose: To deliver safe, compassionate, and exceptional care to every patient, every time. This recognition belongs to them and reflects the heart of our hospital.”

Healthgrades’ analysis revealed that outcomes vary widely between the nation’s highest- and lowest-performing facilities—with the gap continuing to widen. If all hospitals performed at the level of America’s 50 Best, an estimated 209,081 lives could have been saved during the 2022-2024 study period.* These findings illustrate the importance of choosing a hospital with a proven record of superior clinical outcomes.

“This year's America’s Best Hospitals list gives patients a clearer picture of where high-quality care is delivered most consistently,” said Alana Biggers, MD, MPH, medical advisor at Healthgrades. “Patients can feel confident in their decision to seek care at Cabell Huntington Hospital, an organization that is setting the standard for clinical excellence nationwide.”

With care variation on the rise, consumers must find and select a top-rated hospital to maximize their chances of a successful outcome.
