Marshall Health Network announces health screenings, community events and breast cancer awareness activities in October 2026

Wellness Blood Profiles 

$25 wellness blood profiles include 29 different tests, such as glucose, cholesterol and calcium. For a complete list of tests and add-on options (at additional cost), visit marshallhealthnetwork.org/programs-and-activities. 

Time: Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to noon (except holidays) 

Locations: 20th Street Professional Building (1115 20th St., Huntington) & Rivers Health, (2520 Valley Drive, Point Pleasant and drive thru clinic at 485 Maple Street, Point Pleasant) 
No appointment is required. Lab work should be performed while fasting.

COPD Community Screening Program

Community members experiencing shortness of breath, chronic cough or other respiratory symptoms are encouraged to schedule a simple spirometry screening. Most insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid, cover the cost.

Location: St. Mary’s Pulmonary Rehabilitation, 2900 First Ave., Huntington

Coronary Calcium CT Scan

This low-dose CT scan provides a non-invasive screening of the coronary arteries for calcium deposits. People who should consider the test include those with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, obesity, high stress levels or a strong family history of heart disease. The cost is $79.

Vascular Screenings 

Screenings are available for peripheral vascular disease, carotid artery and abdominal aortic aneurysm. The cost is $45 for each test or $99 for all three tests. Cash, check or credit cards are accepted.

Perinatal Mental Health Class

Join Marshall Health Network for a free Perinatal Mental Health Class designed to help expectant parents understand the emotional changes that can occur during pregnancy and after childbirth while providing practical tools for a healthy transition into parenthood. Marshall Health Network and Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center invite breast cancer patients and survivors to join Sisters of Hope, a welcoming space to connect, share, learn and support one another. Each gathering offers an opportunity to find encouragement, share practical tips and resources and connect with others who understand the journey. This month’s meeting will feature dietitian Jessie Owens presenting “Diet and Breast Cancer.”

Navigating Grief Sessions

This free four-week session is for anyone who has experienced a loss. Attendees will learn how to manage grief more effectively and meet other people who are experiencing the same emotions. Topics covered include the definition of grief, stages and expressions of grief, how to deal with grief and practical responses to grief. This series is free, but registration is required.

Wear pink or green and enjoy an inspiring program featuring guest speaker Katie Davis, APRN, FNP-BC, along with breast cancer survivor speakers Monica McClellan and Abbie Pannell.

Vendor shopping begins at 10:30 a.m. Lunch begins at noon. All proceeds benefit the Pink Ribbon Fund at St. Mary’s Regional Cancer Center, which is celebrating 20 years of supporting local breast cancer patients.

Marshall Medical Outreach (MMO) is a student-led free mobile health clinic that takes place once a month on a Saturday in downtown Huntington, WV. MMO provides free medical care to the homeless, unemployed and those at risk of homelessness in our city.

Monster Smash Pickleball Bash

Join MHN Foundations and PROACT for a fun-filled pickleball tournament featuring women’s, men’s, and mixed doubles in beginner, intermediate, and advanced divisions.
