Dr. Eva Patton-Tackett

Dr. Eva Patton-Tackett has been named Medical Director of Clinical Efficiency and Patient Flow at Cabell Huntington Hospital (CHH). In this new role, Tackett will focus on enhancing collaboration around the hospital’s discharge planning process.

She will partner closely with physicians, case management, nursing, and throughput teams to help reduce discharge delays, improve bed availability, and ensure safe, timely, and efficient patient transitions. In addition, she will serve as Chair of the Hospital Utilization Review Committee.

“This physician-led role reflects CHH’s ongoing commitment to advancing health, inspiring hope and serving patients,” said Tim Martin, Chief Operating Officer for CHH. “Dr. Tackett’s work will continue to build on initiatives that are already making meaningful progress on the patient experience. A long-time physician and educator, she brings a deep understanding of bedside medicine and systems-based care, and we are excited to welcome her into this leadership role.”

Tackett, a board-certified physician in internal medicine and pediatrics, currently serves as residency program director for the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine (JCESOM), where she is also an associate professor. She received her medical degree from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine in Lexington, Kentucky, and completed her residency in Huntington at JCESOM. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and the American College of Physicians.
