Marshall Health Network honors impact of volunteers

Marshall Health Network (MHN) recognized the contributions of its volunteers during a special appreciation luncheon on April 10 at the St. Mary’s Conference Center, celebrating the individuals who support MHN’s patients, families and care teams across the region.
During the past year, more than 336 volunteers — including adults and teens — and 14 pet therapy teams contributed 47,618 hours of service across MHN’s hospitals and clinics. Their efforts enhance the patient experience through thousands of moments of compassion, connection and support.
“Volunteers are an important part of our care teams,” said Julie A. Neal, director of volunteer services for MHN. “Their generosity and kindness make a meaningful difference for our patients, families and staff each day.”
Volunteers assist in a variety of roles, from greeting visitors and supporting hospital staff to providing comfort for patients and their loved ones. Their presence helps create a more welcoming and supportive environment throughout the health system.
The volunteer luncheon leads into National Volunteer Week, April 19 to 25 — and provides Marshall Health Network an opportunity to thank volunteers for their service and highlight the collect impact of their contributions.
Those interested in becoming a volunteer are encouraged to explore a variety of opportunities across Marshall Health Network.
